What Does C1411 Mean?
The ABS module has detected an open circuit in the left front (LF) traction control valve solenoid wiring. A break in the electrical path prevents the module from activating the LF traction control valve. The traction control warning light will be on, and LF traction control intervention is disabled.
Common Causes
40%
Broken or disconnected wire in the LF traction control solenoid circuit
25%
Corroded or backed-out terminal pins at connector
20%
Internally open LF traction control solenoid coil
15%
ABS module connector damage or poor seating
Diagnostic Steps
1
Disconnect the ABS HCU connector and measure the LF solenoid circuit resistance at the harness pins — should read 3-6 ohms if the full circuit is intact.
2
If open (OL), disconnect the solenoid at the valve end. Measure coil resistance directly at the solenoid — OL means the coil is internally burned open.
3
If the solenoid coil is good, perform a point-to-point continuity check on each wire from the module connector to the solenoid connector to find the break.
4
Inspect the harness routing for damage from heat (exhaust proximity), vibration wear, or rodent damage. Check protective loom for deterioration.
5
After repair, clear codes, road test, and verify traction control engages properly on both front wheels using a controlled low-traction surface test.
Estimated Repair Cost
$100 - $1,000

The most common cause of C1411 (Traction Control Valve LF Circuit Open) is: Broken or disconnected wire in the LF traction control solenoid circuit
Typical repair costs for C1411 range from $100 to $1,000, depending on the vehicle, location, and whether you do it yourself or go to a shop.
LF traction control is non-functional. Standard braking is unaffected, but electronic traction assistance is unavailable on the left front. Safe to drive under normal conditions, but reduced performance on slippery surfaces. Repair before encountering adverse weather.
Start by connecting an OBD2 scanner to read the code and any freeze frame data. Then follow the diagnostic steps specific to C1411 to identify the root cause.
